The Projects were formed when Jools Slater and Chris Backhouse hooked up together as song writers in the summer of 2005. The founder members were soon joined by Chris Harland and Jason Brown, and the band line up has now been completed with the addition of Dave Hardy, Rob Brooks, and new singer Emily Gohl. Each member of the band brings a unique element to the mix, and it is the varied backgrounds and styles of it's personnel that makes this band different. Jazz, Soul, Rock, Reggae, House, Hip-Hop, Drum n' Bass; The Projects blend it all seamlessly.

Taking their strength from the breakbeats and rhythms of dance culture and the power of soul, mixing it with a healthy dose of psychedelia and a smattering of jazz, The Projects attempt to make a new stand on British triphop, by stirring up a massive collection of sounds and moulding them to their own designs. Taking original samples from nature, urban life and street sounds to form the foundation of the beats and structure, blending in some sweet downtempo jazz and funky soul.

The Projects' songs tell a story of modern life and modern lives. That's right.....it's all mixed up!
